The Chamber’s annual Chinese New Year dinner took place on 8 February, with over 30 members and guests enjoying the food and surroundings of the China Club in Hong Kong.
Guests of Honour included (from the right) Norway’s Consul General in Guangzhou, Mr. Espen Rikter-Svendsen, and Honorary Consul in Hong Kong, Mr. C.C. Liu. Here pictured with (continuing from the right), Mr. Kjartan Furset (Chairman), Mr. Sidney Wong, (former Executive Secretary), and Klaus Heldman of Heidrick & Struggles.
Mr. Rikter-Svendsen gave a much-appreciated speech on the topic of “Normalisation of China-Norway Relations”, announcing a flurry of activity to come in the relations between the two countries. First out is a visit to China by the Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg later in the spring, followed by a number of ministerial visits and business delegations. Further positive developments are taking place in trade negotiations and travel.
Another great New Year dinner, and welcome to the Year of the Fire Rooster!
